Barrett-Jackson will pay homage to Shelby American's 50th Anniversary during the Scottsdale auction Jan. 15-22 with the sale of five superb Shelby cars that represent each year from 1965-1969, one of them a rare "barn find." "These cars represent a tremendous – and tremendously collectible – era," said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. Preview: RM Auctions, 'Automobiles of Arizona' Jan. 19-20
Classic Driver    Share
As a mainstay of the January Arizona auction scene, for 2012 RM has cataloged more than 140 motor cars that should appeal to any visitor determined to enjoy both a little winter sun and add to his or her collection. The lotlist certainly ticks all the boxes. For Ferrari enthusiasts there are ten cars, maybe a little less than usual (and no 275 GTBs or Cal' Spiders, note) but still packed with quality. The headlining 1957 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Coupe ($1,750,000 - 2,250,000) is a car we've previewed recently in Classic Driver and is surely a 'given' at any top-level concours. More

Time for tea? Ferrari F40 — Upated
Piston Heads    Share
There's something incredibly raw about the Ferrari F40 that even the most extreme modern supercars just lack. The F40 is a car whose timing was just spot on. It's the collision of new and old tech that makes it so appealing - at its heart it's an old-school Ferrari complete with a space frame steel chassis and clickety-clack gated manual gearbox. And, of course, no driver aids. Fair enough, but that coupled with decidedly new school turbo performance and the lightweight carbon body made for a fearsome combo. More

Collectible classic: 1935-1936 Chevrolet Master DeLuxe
Automobile Magazine    Share
You'd probably never expect this pretty green 1936 Chevy to have a horn that sounds like that of a diesel train locomotive. Tap the button at the center of the steering wheel, however, and the thundering noise startles just about everyone within earshot. When the double-hinged, passenger-side hood panels are raised, the source of the sound becomes obvious: two huge trumpet like horns hang prominently above the six-cylinder engine, which isn't much longer than the horns themselves.
